[創立趣旨]
女子美アートミュージアムは、本学本来の教育・研究を基盤にして幅広い芸術、文化活動を行ない、地域に開かれた芸術交流の場として、豊かな社会の文化形成に貢献することを目指しています。

[Founding Goals]
The Joshibi Art Museum aims to carry out a wide range of artistic and cultural activities based on the university's intrinsic foundation of education and research, and to contribute toward the cultural formation of an affluent society by serving as a venue for artistic exchange that is open to the local community.
　
[沿革]

1900年（明治33年）、私立女子美術学校（女子美術大学の前身）を本郷弓町に創設。以来、女性にとって極めて厳しい時代と環境を乗り越え、今日まで多くの作家を輩出してきました。女子美アートミュージアムは、こうした本学卒業生や本学ゆかりの作家の作品を中心に、その他、画家の書簡、ポスター、工芸品等を収蔵しています。

1990年（平成2年）、相模原キャンパス3号館4階に女子美術大学美術資料館が開館。
2001年（平成13年）9月、相模原キャンパスの女子美術大学創立100周年の記念棟（10号館）1階に、新たに女子美アートミュージアム（略称JAM）として生まれ変わりました。これまでの活動を引き継ぐと共に、新たに学外にも開かれた文化交流の場となるよう、校門とは別に市立相模原麻溝公園側に入り口を設けてあります。

今後、多くの市民に親しまれ愛される施設として展示活動を行なっていきます。

[Historical Background]
In 1900, the Private Women's School of Fine Arts (the predecessor of Joshibi University of Art and Design) was founded in the Hongo-Yumimachi district of Tokyo. Since then, the school has overcome eras and environments that were extremely harsh for women and has thus far sent out many women artists into the world. In 1990, the Joshibi Art Gallery for Reference was opened on the fourth floor of Building 3 on the Sagamihara Campus. In September 2001, the Gallery was reborn as Joshibi Art Museum (JAM) on the first floor of Building 10, which was constructed on the same campus in commemoration of the centennial of the Joshibi's foundation.
The JAM collection mainly contains the works of graduates and artists affiliated with the school, in addition to the correspondence of painters, posters, and craft works. While carrying on the activities of the former Gallery, the Museum has both an entrance on campus and another new entrance in front of the Municipal Sagamihara-Asamizo Park, thus enabling it to serve as a new venue for cultural exchange that is open to the public. In the years to come, it will conduct exhibition activities as a facility that is familiar to and admired by local citizens.

[主な収蔵作品]
女子美アートミュージアムでは、卒業生をはじめ本学にゆかりの深い美術家の作品を中心に洋画・日本画・版画・彫刻・立体・工芸・ポスター・ビデオ・書簡など、約2,500点の美術資料を収蔵しています。
近年収蔵した900余点のインドネシアのイカット（絣）や、精神分析学者フロイトの孫で20世紀を代表する人物画家ルシアン・フロイトの作品は、日本でも貴重な美術資料として知られています。

[杉並校地・ガレリアニケ]
Nike 延べ床面積約350平米

ガレリアニケは杉並キャンパス内の展示施設として平成8年に開設されました。女子美アートミュージアムと関連した展示活動を行なうとともに、杉並キャンパス独自の企画展示を計画・構成しています。杉並キャンパスは新宿に近い交通至便な閑静な住宅街にあり、ガレリアニケは地域の人々に親しまれる開かれたアートギャラリーを目指しています。

開館時間：　10:00〜17:00　（入場は16:30まで）
入場料：　無料
休館日：　日曜日　（女子美祭期間中は開館しています）

Galleria Nike

Galeria Nike was opened in 1996 as an exhibition facility within the Suginami Campus. In addition to conducting exhibition activities in association with the Joshibi Art Museum in Sagamihara, it plans and organizes thematic exhibitions that are unique to Suginami. Located in a quiet residential area, the campus is close to Shinjuku, a central area of Tokyo, and can be conveniently accessed by public transportation. It aims to become an art gallery that is open to and admired by local residents.
